Some quick progress on Sally's Sampler (aka Mildred's Garden).

I have been stitching! I finished the house on Monday, and then tonight I started on a little bit of greenery on the right side of the house (not pictured). As with all Blackbird charts,it is just too fun to stitch!

Here's a picture of a little vignette I have on the "desk" (I don't use it as a desk) of my kitchen/dining area. Inside is a tiny plate that I bought at an antique store last year. I paid way too much for it, but I just loved the picture on it. I haven't seen anything like it since and so I'm happy I got it. The little blue bottle I picked up from my mother's house when we were cleaning it out. There are also some of her thimbles I got, some old buttons, and a tiny frog holding some scissors. Up top are some old oil cans and my little needlepunch bird I made at my sister's house in Florida last March. Don't know why really I'm showing this, but It's one of my favorite corners of my house.

Next up are a couple of antique "berry boxes" that I got from an antique yard sale last summer. The guy told me they were used to pick berries in Europe. I have a big red berry basket but it's up too high to take a picture. Maybe another day!

The next two pictures are just a haberdashery of fun things I put together in my entryway on a shelf I have there. I got the antique rusty iron at an antique shop and the brown bottles there too. Everything else pictured is not old/antique. My MIL gave me the scissors quite a few years ago and I love them for their primitive look. The little needlecase is a Merry Cox design, my all-time favorite stitch!

Okay...I'll leave you now...back soon with more finished on Sally's Sampler. I have stitched a couple of little ditties in between her sampler to give as gifts and when I get them all done, I'll post.

Happy Groundhog Day! Hopefully spring will be just right around the corner!

Oh, what fun! I like all of your little treasures, especially those berry baskets. The trinkets that you picked up from your mother's house are, I know, extra special to you. I enjoyed the peek inside your house. :)

Sally's Sampler is GORGEOUS!! I don't think I've paid much attention to the Mildred's Garden chart but seeing your WIP has already sent me on a google chase for it. Lovely work!
