The following projects are my WIPs for the year 2012. I hope to get the first two finished and a good portion on "Jane Atkinson, aka Hannah Cornaby" done this year.
I'm back at it..."A Sweeter Love" by Plum Street Samplers. Just one more line of the over-one words! I'll be so happy when this part is done! My goal is to have this finished so that it can be framed by July, when my son, Scott, and his wife, Kim, celebrate their 10th anniversary (my how time flies)! I am using NPI silk threads and Lakeside Linen's Light Vintage Examplar. I did change the color of the flowers from pinkish to a burnt orange/red.

I splurged this month and re-kitted "
Hannah" aka Jane Atkinson with AVAS silks and changed the linen. After my previous start last August on this project, I realized that I had cut the fabric too small and so had to start over (ahem, math never was my thing, although I can count...sometimes!). Hence, I am calling this a
Work in Progress instead of a new start! I had only stitched half a flower at the top and so I don't feel bad about tossing the previous. When I begin Hannah again, (for the last time) I will be posting about this remarkable Great, Great, Great Grandmother of mine. I'm going to have a separate blog for this project as she has written many fascinating stories about her life, and well, I'd just like to blog about her. I have some fun pictures of her, so...I'm very excited to get this one going!

Next WIP for the year is to do the finish work on Lady Jane's Garden. I did all the queen stitching on it last spring and it's been patiently waiting on the table in my sewing room through all the seasons of 2011 for me to pay it some attention. I hope to be able to start the finishing in March. My friend, Sandra Ball, and I plan to work on this project together. So, get ready for some progress pictures!

I have also kitted a couple of large Blackbird Projects, Anniversary of the Hearts and the Summer, Autumn, Winter one. They are waiting in the wings when I get a bee in my bonnet for a little diversion from the WIP year!
Hope your January has been shaping up well! Mine has been busy and very lovely! I love the "After Christmas" month for getting things in order (I did pull some old food out of the fridge... does that count?) and catching up on some much-needed psychotherapy, er... stitching! For now, I must get back to work so I can get back to stitching!

I have been "eyeing" Jane Atkinson for a long long time...Can't wait to follow your progress....Might ust send me over the edge!!
Nice! All your projects are so pretty! I look forward to seeing them all as the year progresses. Jane is such a worthwhile and fun stitch. You'll love it in the AVAS!
So sorry you have to start over! UGG, you just have to hate that. However, it will be beautiful with the silk conversion, so all is not lost. :)
Love your baskets, and your other WIPs. Can't wait to see your pictures.
Hugs.
I love your posting and will follow your blog about you ggggrandmother. As you know I love Jane Atkinson--and am sorely tempted---you may get me going yet. Tell us which fabric you chose--or was the same as the chart suggested?
You've got great projects lined up for 2012. I hope to finish my Jane A. this year.
Oh I so love, love, love all of your stitching projects. My personal favorite will be watching your progress on our dear Hannah's sampler. This is going to be way too much fun!! HUGS sweet sister. xoxoxo
What fabulous projects!
Love all your WIPS. Can't wait to hear about your ggg grandmother! I adore genealogy. I think maybe I should become a professional family tree researcher. I wonder if that's a real job? LOL
I love all of your WIPs! I'm sorry that you have to start Jane/Hannah over, but am glad that you didn't have too much time invested in it before you discovered the math mistake (been there, done that, got the t-shirt!). I am so excited to read about Hannah as you work on Jane--I just think it's so neat that you'll honor her this way & make her a tangible part of your family's life.
Love all your projects and most of all that your list seems very doable!!!! I tend to think too big so we won't talk about my list for the year, LOL.
Hi Cathy, I enjoyed reading thru your blog and seeing all your stitchings. Such lovely work. Your WIPs sound like a fun list. Happy stitching!
