Summer on 11400 South

Christy and I took a little walk this morning and I thought I'd document the fun (not!) road construction that's been going on for the past year and a half in our neighborhood. Here's a few pictures of what's left of our old yard and garage. Christy posed in front of our old globe willow. I'm surprised it's still alive.

This hole is in our old back yard...(hope those workers are legal...cuz their pictures are now on the internet!). They were speaking spanish and so we had no idea what they were saying...probably...."Stupid gringos...get out of the work zone" or "I hope those pictures aren't going to end up on someone's blog!"

One lonely rose still growing...

Looking out west toward Kennecott Copper Mines...

The little frontage road that goes over where our house used to be...the first time I drove over it this spring, I felt a little dizzy!

And back to where home is now...

Can't wait until the project is done and we can all enjoy a quick drive to where ever we want!

Everything was just fine until I got to the pic of the road where your house was.....ugh...lump in throat, sniff, sniff. Could you go over and lift that lonely rose and bring it home? I'm glad you ended with a beautiful pic of your lovely new home...pretty pretty yard!! HUGS

I know how heartbroken you were about your house and having to move!!! I do love your new home and what a fun name for a street :-).

Maybe you could save the rose?

It must be so heartbreaking to see all the construction where your old house was. Construction is painful for everyone, but for you especially! Love your new house -- fingers crossed that the construction gets finished quickly!

I giggled when I saw the orange "beehives"!!! Utah seems to always be under construction, hope the "detours" will come to an end shortly. Your home is beautiful, a "grace"ful view for sure.

Your new home is beautiful, but I'm sure many memories of the old one are hard to forget. I hate progress sometimes!
Hugs.

You are a strong woman. It would be really hard driving past all of that everyday. I heart Gracie View Lane.....xoxo Angela

Oh, how heartbreaking that must be to see! I'm glad that life on Gracie View Lane has been good to you.

I am playing catch up with blog reading. I spent a month in the US and spent one of those days with Sampler Farm Carol. She was raving about a beautiful framed PL that she'd seen on a blog, but forgot which blog. She said it turned out so nicely. I now know that it was your PL! It is GORGEOUS, you must be so pleased with it!

I enjoyed the pics of the ranch trip--how neat to have that in your family and be able to share the memories with your grandkids--and make new ones with them, too.
