My brother graciously let us stay for the week in exchange for irrigating the beautiful grassy meadows. So Monday we traveled 3 hours to Robertson, Wyoming, just over the border from Utah, to the family cattle ranch. We had a blast watching the kids get used to driving our tiny 4-wheeler, going for long BIG 4-wheeler rides to "change the ditches" as McKenzie put it. The kids enjoyed the 2 dogs, Ringo and Jack, and we all enjoyed the fresh mountain air.
This was the first time I had been back to the ranch since my dad passed away and there were lots of bittersweet memories of times past, but we were making new memories with our little family and enjoying every minute of it!
Thanks Calvin and Kathryn, for letting us enjoy a few days of fun with the cows, dogs, deer, birds, and yes....even a rat the size of Texas in the dog feeder....wish I'd gotten a picture of that! Oh the wonderful days of summer!

I'm glad you all had a great time! It must have been a bit bittersweet for you, but how wonderful to make some new memories with your family there. Great pictures!
Oh Cathy, what great memories you are creating for your family...know your parents must be smiling down with joy!! Love the pictures!!
Looks so fun! What a fabulous little family you have!
Oh my gosh! What FUN! Great pictures, Cathy! Love the one of the little gal in the tall grass - reminds me of Little House on the Prairie!
Looks like you guys had a fabulous time!!! Love the fun pictures...
Very cute pictures! And just for the record...you need to note that McKenzie picked out her own outfit the day she was wearing the purple pants with the brown and pink shirt! I must have been on vacation to let that one fly! She would have never gotten away with that any other time!
Love Wyoming - have spent many falls there when my husband and I first were dating and married - he lived in Riverton for years before we met. I love the west! Went all over WY and then into MT quite a bit...maybe someday we will leave Michigan to live there - my fav place in WY is Dubois!
love your pics - It truly is bittersweet visiting places where you and your parents made so many memories, but it's also nice to pass them on to my son, talking about the fun times, while visiting.
CUTE PICTURES! I love it up there too. It is so magical and relaxing. It brings you back to what is simple and what is important. I'm so glad you got to spend some time up there. I always think of Grampa too...but I know it's different when it is your dad. You're a amazing. Love ya
