I'm a winner!

Here's a picture of what I won on the Busy Beehive blog! THANK YOU LAURA! I love this little design. It caught my eye back when it came out!

I started "Paradise Lost" on Saturday. I have a lot more done on this piece now, it's the middle tree...for some reason I like starting in the middle of a project. I was going to start in the upper RH corner...but was scared away with those initials and the double running... I'm not sure I like the coverage on this 36 ct. I did buy 40 ct and started over yesterday but that fabric is too fuzzy...now what to do??? Any suggestions? I'm taking a time out on it and thinking it over for a few days...

Last week I stitched this up from the JCS Ornie issue...it's La-D-Da's design. I loved so many of the ornies this year. I hope I have time to stitch a few...

Here's picture of a little pinkeep I stitched up for a friend...she knows who she is. It's a thank you for all the great things she does for the stitching world!

And last but certainly not least...here's a picture of a little corner in our yard after our snow storm last Saturday...just a little bit of natural Christmas!

Yesterday I started BBD's "Tis the Season" It's a fabulous stitch. I'll take a pic of my progress tomorrow when it's light outside and post. I already love this piece! Bye for now....

Oooh, love the snowy pic, Cathy! Thanks for sharing that. I'm so tired of dreary gray weather. :P

Your stitching is wonderful! I love your finish, and your PL start is great! Are you using silks? I am happy with the coverage of silks on 36 ct but feel iffy about cotton on 36. If your 40 ct is fuzzy, is there any way that you can take off some of the fuzz? I know my Picture This Plus linen comes in fuzzy but I am able to wipe it off. I did have a bunch of slubs on my Light Examplar for PL--Melissa from Words & Blooms calls them warts (never heard that before but love it!) and I usually just stitch over them. ?! I don't know... I say maybe think on it and see what you feel most comfortable with, because it is a big sampler. You want to enjoy all the components of it.

I can't wait to see your Tis the Season!

Ooooh, congrats on the win! Love that piece too! And my gosh, you've been busy! Love the heart piece -- lucky friend -- and also the La D Da ornament. So cute! As for your fabric for PL. I'm with Siobhan, I tend to think the coverage on 36ct is fine, but then again, I often am happy with coverage of one thread on 32ct too. :D Again, I agree with Siobhan -- try to see if you can get some of that fuzz off the 40ct. Sometimes I've had that too and it often just picks right off. Good luck!

Congrats on the win!

I'll enjoy watching your Paradise Lost progress.

I living in Florida and I just love pictures of fresh snow! I wish we'd have that kind of weather here every so often!

Oh snow. Please keep it there for a little while longer! I love looking at it, but don't like having it!

I think your PL start is great. But I have the same question as Siobhan - are you using silks or cottons. When I use silks on 35 count I'm a happy camper. When I use DMC (like on my Adam Alone), I use two strands just because the cotton doesn't quite cover as well. And fuzzy fabric? Would that be WDW fabric? I'm using that for my piece now and I keep getting fuzz balls on it, and the holes are very difficult to see.

Love the little chart you won! Congrats. Fun stuff.
I think your Paradise lost is fine. I know what you mean about the coverage, but I think it adds a delicate look to have a little fabric showing through.
Love the ornaments as well! I'll have to check out that issue.
Take care.

Love the snow gf. Wish I was there! It's quite warm here and will be for the next 3 days. 100F +.

Nice stitching too...your friend is very lucky! I have no suggestions re the fabric/thread conundrum. Good luck with working out what to do. :)

What a nice prize! Congrats.

Love all your bits and pieces. I don't have any good advice on PL, maybe you could touch the linen up with an iron?
