Yesterday afternoon and evening I spent time stitching this dear little cardinal. Isn't he coming to life just perfectly? I wanted his little wings to be striped and I'm now working on the body and trying to stipple the color effect. It's kind of fun to meander all around instead of working in straight lines.
Part of the afternoon was spent stitching with Helen Heindorff, my very fun friend from Brisbane. She came to my house for lunch and stitching (wish I'd taken a picture of us). When I found out she had not seen "Twilight" we popped the movie in and drooled for a couple of hours.... Seriously! I have seen that movie like 3 times and still couldn't put needle and thread to linen while I watched...I stitched maybe about 20 stitches...and hopefully didn't get any drool anywhere...
In the evening after taking Helen back to her son's home, I returned to a delightfully empty house, Wayne out in his Man Cave, and Christy gone to her second viewing of New Moon. I lit the gas-log, turned to my DVR, and stitched to my heart's content! I just love this little cardinal!
BTW...New Moon was just too much fun! I really think the best part was sitting in the theater with everyone else! When Jake took his shirt off...hallelujah...yoh mama! One lady yells out....REWIND! Everyone cracks up! Jake has obviously been workin' out! HOT.HOT.HOT! I'm still Team Edward...gotta love that pale face and red lips, the slightly vamped out teeth...the touseled hair...and those eyes....sigh... Yeah...but he should leave his shirt on for sure when Jake's around!
It's been a fun couple of days...now on to thawing, roasting, basting, and all the good stuff in preparation for the big turkey day on Thursday! I hope to squeeze in some stitching time this week...hope you find time to enjoy what you do best too!

Cathy, your cardinal is coming along so nicely!! This is at the top of my must stitch list. I love your rendition of it.
Wasn't New Moon just incredible?!? LOL at the woman in the theater yelling out 'rewind'. I can't wait to go back and see it. As for how many times I've seen Twilight...oh my gosh, I can't get enough of it. I think Jacob is great but I'll keep Edward, thankyouverymuch. ;)
Love the new blog look, too!

Oh, your cardinal is coming along beautifully! My grandmother adores cardinals and it reminds me of her...now I have to add to my own stash! I have enjoyed looking around on your blog! You have beautiful stitching!
Love that cardinal, he's too cute. Sounds like you had a nice weekend, glad you got to spend time with your friend.
Love your Tis the Season! I should break down and buy that book - I think there is a sale Friday at the shop where I buy BBD stuff if I feel like braving the roadways. I have to agree with Margaret - I'm not into the vamp stuff but I know it's fun for those who are. Enjoy! Melody
