Another Blackbird start...

I seemed to be getting a little bored with Peace On Earth and so I started another little BBD...Coxcomb Sewing Box...a very generous lady gave me her chart after she finished stitching hers. As are all the other BBD projects, it's been very fun to stitch, just plain cross-stitch!! I love the colors and linen and the soothing feeling of my needle and thread...in and out...in and out...what's that??? ARGH!!! A stitch in the wrong place? Thank goodness for reverse stitching...

I've been making myself go out and ride Christy's bike every morning this week. Today I even wore her helmet! I looked so official..except I don't have one of those sleek little bike riding outfits with the extra padding for my "stitch butt" (like I would look anything like those skinny winnies who ride around just because they like to, and they pass me pedaling their bikes up the hill whilest I'm walking mine up huffing and puffing!) Just for the record, I really hate exercising...takes time away from my stitching...and I hate to sweat...but I think I still want to be stitching 10 years from now...heaven knows I've got enough projects for my next life!

Guess I'd better get to work now...ya'll have a fantastic day!

Nice start! Isn't it the truth? I hate to sweat!! Or exercise! lol! But it's a necessity like you said. Bummer, huh? :D

Your new BBD start is BEAUTIFUL. Love all of the colors. PoE does get mindless after a while with only 4 colors of thread. But...the new piece is lovely. Good for you and your exercise!! My exercise consists of getting myself out of the sinkhole and walking to the coffee pot! HUGS

Beautiful stitching, Cathy! I love BBDs--they are so soothing to stitch. YGG on the biking! I wouldn't mind trying it again but don't want anybody to be able to see me in case I forget how. ;)

this is beautiful! don't read my blog because I am still on the elementary level of sewing and stitching (like taking a yard of material and finishing the edges to make something). I need to come and get lessons from you! :)

Love your start on the Coxcomb Sewing Box. And I like your Peace on Earth piece too! I hear you on the exercise. I hate doing it, but it almost becomes a necessary evil - plus there is the added benefit of doing it so we can stitch longer!!

Cathy, love your new start. I think that's why I so love the LHN, just stitching, nothing else. I don't think I've ever seen that piece, and its gorgeous. Does it use Variegated threads? And what fabric did you use?
