I stitched these projects last summer, the patriotic person that I am! So, a few weeks ago I took them to my local frame/stitch shop, Craft Center of Fine Stitchery, and had Jamie frame these up for me. I'm so happy to have them back and ready for display during the summer months.
First up, Flag by Bent Creek.
Next up, Betsy by Sheepish Designs.
And where they are for now, until I get all my Americana decorations out. This is at the top of my stairs on my way to my office, where I have my mother's cute sofa table with all my favorite things all in one place.
A couple of weeks ago I spent the better part of a week planting flowers in my yard and planting pots in various places on my patio and front porch, so here they are...and yes, my back was killing me by the time I got them all planted and positioned. Now I can just enjoy...if I remember to keep them all watered!
I had the time this morning to just sit on my patio and stitch for about 2 hours. It was so fabulous! Just me, my stitching, the audio book "The Lucky One," a few magpies cackling, oh...and a little black jumping spider who ended up on my scroll rods! Holy crap! Now I don't enjoy little furry black spiders wanting a close up look of my stitching...nope...not even a little bit!

Ack! I would have freaked at the spider for sure. I stay indoors and stitch. lol! Love your two patriotic pieces and the frames you chose. They look great where they are hanging too! Love all your flowers as well. You're better than me. I haven't planted anything. :D
Beautiful stitching and beautiful plantings !! I hate those stupid jumping spiders. Just remember to not squish him on your stitch!!! xoxoxo
Wonderful patriotic pieces, Cathy. I especially love the SD finish and frame.
Your yard looks beautiful. It is indeed back breaking work but the results are gorgeous!
I agree with Cari - don't squish those little buggers on your stitching!
I'm sorry..I didn't mean to laugh, imagining your face when you saw that spider!!! Seems no matter how small they are, I jump!
OMG!! Your framed pieces are absolutely beautiful! Love them! And your flowers are amazing. Yes..I feel your pain with all of that planting. i might have to just supervise next season! Lol!
Your framed pieces look great and I love the flower pots you created.
I can't imagine why you don't like little black spiders looking at your stitching! So funny seeing that visual in my mind! Did you drop your stitching? I probably would have thrown it as far away from me as I could get it!
Love, love, love the new framing. So many great pieces to enjoy. Your display is perfect.
I was thinking I need to get out my patriotic stuff, but I just haven't felt like it yet. Maybe next week.
Have a great one! Hugs to you dear friend.
Oh, and your flowers are wonderful too! So pretty.
Funny spider visual, I'd probably have thrown my stitching, LOL. Gorgeous framed pieces, love how you have them displayed!!! And pretty flowers too.
Cathy, your flowers are beautiful! What a beautiufl place to stitch, even if you have a "visitor" or two. Love this time of the year when you can display all things patriotic!!!
Linda
What a beautiful place you have to sit and stitch! Hopefully the spider hurried quickly on his way! Your framed pieces look wonderful ~ perfect frames to compliment your stitching!
Cathy, love your patriotic finishes...the frames are perfect! Your flowers are beautiful!
Really love your finishes! I'm getting more and more tempted to buy and stitch the Sheepish Designs one!!
Linda in VA
I agree with Linda--I didn't know about that Sheepish Designs kit. Your pieces are wonderful and the frames fit the pieces wonderfully!
You're amazing--you get so much done!
I love your Patriotic pieces. your display looks great.
Sorry that your stitching time was interrupted by a spider, ugh!
Not too fussed on spiders myself, esp when they appear unexpectedly! Both your framed pieces are lovely and your pots are gorgeous!
Love all the new plants and stitching. My favorite is the Flag.
Thanks for the nice comments about Darin and his projects. The TC movie is being filmed in August. He is playing Ephraim Hanks. I will be so glad when he can shave off all the hair!
He is doing a lot of writing, producing and directing shorts and commercials now, since his hair is so song preparing for the Hanks role. He just finished writing, producing and directing a Mormon Message about healing marriages. It has been approved by the G As, so it should post soon. His wife is having a little boy in a couple of weeks.
We are in Sunvalley this weekend for a FBI Conference. It is our last one. Raeburn is retiring at the end of the month.
Love you guys! Happy Father's Day Wayne!
