Sisters/Friends Retreat

Well, I'm finally getting around to taking pictures off my camera and recalling memories from my little Park City trip!

In September, my sisters and I (Carolyn and Joan), took a vacation to Park City to meet up with some blogging friends, some from Utah and some from Michigan and Colorado! Wahoo! We had a fabulous time with wonderful friends. We stayed at the Escala Lodge at the Canyon's Resort, while the Shepherd's Bush Retreat was going on. We didn't go to the retreat, just staged one for ourselves, (well Karen, Julie and Terri went to the retreat). It was just too much fun! I really enjoyed spending time with women who have the passion of stitching like I do. We are all so alike...the passion for a needle and thread is such an enjoyable one to me, and then to find fabulous women who all feel the same way...well, it's really gratifying!

In our suite getting ready for our friends' gifts.

A pic of Joan with her finished punch needle on an adorable oil can!

She was the sewing queen at the retreat! Always running her machine and making fabulous projects!

Cari and Loraine...Loraine is from Brigham City, and I'm soooo happy to have met her finally!

This is Cari and her friend from Colorado, Karen! We stitched quite a bit with Karen and enjoyed every minute of it! I just loving having new friends!

Here's a picture of our friends from Utah and Michigan together: Julie, Deb, Jolene, Terri, Loraine, and Kathryn. (Whad up Kathryn??? love that pose, LOL!)

And here's picture at home of all the gifts that were given to me during the week! Soooo fabulous! ThaNkS EvErYoNe!

Last, but certainly not least, I finally finished Master Brayden's little sampler! It was O so fun to stitch, although I had a rough start in the beginning. I had quite a bit of it stitched and realized that I'd based the center of the design wrong and had stitched too darn much of it to frog...so off to the stitch store for a new piece of linen, and back to the beginning! I love how it turned out. I'm having it framed in a basic black/brown frame. Can't wait 'til it's done!

What a fabulous week we had, so sad that it's over, but fun memories are still lingering!

Love the Sampler finished. I am still rolling around in my kill and shared my goodies with everyone in Colorado and Florida. I now have 12 oil cans so have to get busy decorating. I had a great time with the "Sisters". Miss you all already. Love and Hugs all around!!!

I have read the blog postings, imagined the fun and then heard about it first hand from Deb...missed Terri and Julie at our recent meeting. I belong to a sampler guild with them and they are a hoot so I know you had a blast! Love the pics in your post - you all look so great.

Glad you had such a nice time with your sisters. I just hate that we didn't get a chance to get together. Maybe next time :-).
