Summer stitching finish...

Last Friday I finished Blackbird Designs "Peace on Earth." Happy Dance with me please! I really enjoyed stitching this piece. There were only four colors of overdyed thread and so it was relatively easy to follow the chart and get it stitched. I think I started it around June 1st and finished it July 17th. I'm going to send it off to Jill Rensel for framing. She did my sister's framing on hers and I can tell you it is FaBuLouS!

Last week Christy and I bought some raspberries and blackberries at a fruit stand along the street and made the most delicious freezer jam! She posted pictures on her blog, but for those of you who don't frequent her blog, here are some of them again! Toast and jam, peanut butter and jam, hot rolls and jam! Mmmmmm!

Love your Peace on Earth. I can't wait to see what Jan does with it - although there's not much to improve on your stitching. It looks wonderful. And the jam looks wonderful too!!

Love your Peace on Earth! I saw Cari's in the flesh and it was wonderful. That Jill sure has a talent, doesn't she?

Yum on the jam...I'm wanting some toast now. Oh but a clarification (or even two). I thought you Yanks called it jelly?? And what is freezer jam???? Regardless of what you call it, it looks YUMMO!

Alison, jelly is made with just the juice from the fruit...jam is mashed or ground fruit...all of it...that's the difference. Freezer jam hasn't been cooked. It's mashed with sugar and pectin and frozen...the absolute BEST!

Your Peace on Earth is just lovely, I bet it will look amazing when it framed. I am interested in your Blackbird Designs Coxcomb project which you mentioned in an ealier post. Is that a class piece? I can't find it on the net anywhere and I'd be interested in finding out about it.
