The first flower on Jane Atkinson. I'm using the recommended AVAS
silk threads. I originally kitted this with DMC but had it so long
before starting it that I splurged in January and bought the silks. I
made some mistakes but didn't reverse stitch anything, I just adapted.
So the right side of this flower is "my version." I'm stitching this piece in remembrance of my Great Great Great Grandmother, Hannah Last Cornaby, but more on that later.
Below is the Blackbird chart "Wild Garden" which I stitched for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. Just an FYI that there's not quite enough linen left over for framing. I think they should have added at least another inch or so around the whole thing, especially for the price of the limited edition kit. Nevertheless, it was fun to stitch.

And the next picture below is a picture frame book/box I found at a local deco store. I stitched and inserted a little Blackbird motif and gave one to each of my sisters for Mother's Day. Too fun!
Have a great weekend! I've spent all week planting flowers in my yard and I'm about ready to drop and sleep for days! Love this time of year!

Wow! You have been busy! What lovelies! I have a very good start on Jane Atkinson..my downfall came with the over-one areas. GRRR! But I will keep going..it's just that, as you know, other designs have taken over. Love all of your BBD pieces. Have a great weekend, Cathy!
Love your new start on Jane! I just was thinking about her last night when I saw it on another blog-- how to stitch all these great things at once??!!! LOL. Cant wait to see more and PS, making it your own is the best way :)
Nice finishes on you BBD collection-- I have heard to about the kit not being enough linen, I hate that too!!!!! AND for all the $$. --on a positive, it helps us be more creative on our finishing.
Hope you have a great day!
Hope you love stitching Jane as much as I do... it's a gorgeous sampler. Your BBD pieces looks wonderful.
You have been a busy girl. Love the start on Jane and I love that you don't reverse stitch. I started her last year and right off the bad I made a mistake, but no reverse stitching for me either.
Great finishes for you BBD's.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Oh my my! Love everything -- your sisters must have been thrilled with their presents! I'm so glad you've started Jane Atkinson. She was one of my favorite stitches for sure. She is a stunner! I agree on the linen for Wild Garden -- they skimped for sure. I was wondering how you managed to have so much of a border on your piece and then you said that about the linen margins. lol!
Cathy, what sweet Mother's Day gifts you gave! Isn't it wonderful to "gift" pieces to special people in your life! Oh la la ... "Jane Atkinson" ... a favorite of so many! Your start looks beautiful...no missteps as far as I can see! Enjoy her!
You are one busy sister. I love my gift...I'm looking at it right now. Perfection once again !! xoxoxo
Everything is so pretty and I love your Jane start!!!!
Great start on Jane Cathy! This is going to be such a beautiful finish.
I love your other finishes. I think that you are right about them including a little more fabric for the price of the kit.
Have a great weekend!
That flower is amazing in Jane Atkinson!! My goodness! Love the BBD box you made! So pretty!!
Oops, I meant frame not box!! I think I need another coffee!
You started it!! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Good for you. I wouldn't have noticed the adaptation if you hadn't mentioned it. ;) It looks great. I love the piece you did for your sisters, too. Love your BBD!
