A new generation stitcher!

This is my darling granddaughter, McKenzie Brooke, who is 7 years old. We had a sleepover last weekend and we made all the goodies she's holding. The yellow-haired doll was for her, the brown-haired doll was for her little sister, and the little brown puppy was for her little brother. We had a fabulous time together! These were all kits that I got at Hobby Lobby and are excellent for little girls just starting out! I slept in a bit on Monday morning and when I got up she was already dressed and had sewn unsupervised for a long time. She had done an excellent job! On these projects we used the running stitch and the double-running stitch. Next up? A cross-stitch kit on plastic canvas!

Oh that's so cool! I bet McKenzie is feeling so proud! And her grandma too for that matter! Yay for you both!

How wonderful. I can't think of anything better than getting a new generation into handwork of any kind. It sounds like she's caught the bug if she started without you! Good for her!!

McKenzie is adorable and how lucky that she has you to teach her how to create wonderful things! I love that she was working away when you got up!

Hi I'm a new follower.

So adorable! It was thanks to my grandmother and mom that I got into stitching - period! So many memories like this one :)

Happy Stitching!
