Sister Retreat Stitching Projects

Oh we had so much fun at our Sister's Retreat last month! Here's a picture of what we punched while there. When we saw TerriBoog's bird on the oil can we really got our panties in a wad! So stinkin' fun! For a time I was on eBay buying up all the cute oil cans I could find. I finally had to slap my hands from getting on eBay for a while. I still have about 5 oil cans sitting on my countertop. They are a new obscession for me. I punched another bird for Kim, my daughter-in-law for Easter.

Cari had given Joan and I this beautiful punch project for Christmas in 2008 called "Winterberries" and Joan was punching it in Florida. It was working up so cute, so I came home and punched mine up in just a few short days. It was so much fun to get away from cross-stitching and just mindlessly punch my brains out!

The itch to stitch came back pretty quickly. Here's my progress on Paradise Lost.

I guess that's all for today. I do have some fun Easter pics of my little grandbabies that I'll post next time. Have a great week and if you're a stitcher or crafter or scrapbooker, I hope you find the time you want to enjoy what you do!

What a wonderful post!!!! Now I know who was buying up all those oil cans on Ebay! LOL

I just love your bird and the Winterberries. I'm definitely going to have to try this out after seeing your two great pieces!! I think the attraction is that you wrote "so I came home and punched mine up in a few short days......and just mindlessly punch my brains out!!" That sounds like so much fun!!

Paradise Lost is looking great too - it's going to be a wonderful finish!

Oil cans are fun to find and they're so graphic that they're fun all by themselves.... but then... put that cute little bird ont top and well... how cute is THAT! Great job on both of them! Also love the samplery (is that a word?) looking one as well.

Your PL is so pretty - I do love that chart and will get to it one of these days!

What beautiful birds!! I love 'em. I love your other punch needle finish, too. I have all the stuff to do PN, just haven't actually tried it yet. My daughter did some w/o fully reading the directions. I won't tell you what kind of hair it looked like. That's all I will say. Ahem.

Love your PL progress!!
