Today I love the color green...

We have LANDSCAPE! Yay! Our landscaping is finished! We've never had a yard professionally 100% landscaped before, but at this house we decided to go all out and have it done for us. We're a little landscape challenged and so have enjoyed the prospect of having it done for us. Just the upkeep alone in a yard is daunting! Our friend and neighbor, Steve Reid of Steve 'n Son Landscaping, did it for us and we are so happy with it! Wahoo! Thanks Steve!

Here are some pictures...
A side front view.

Views in the back yard.

I love bleeding hearts...and I have 3 or 4 of those plants! Which reminds me of a story about my parents. My dad was weed-wacking once in the back yard for my mom...and weedwacked her bleeding heart plant all to heck...she cried and cried...my dad didn't realize what he'd done...I don't think she spoke to him for a few days...poor dad!

In front of the garage.

The garden spot behind the garage. Time for garden planting. The pots you see back there are 2 rhubarb plants I dug up from our other house. At that time, they were transplants from Wayne's mom's house. I've loved having them over the years. I've made many rhubarb pies for my dad and now he's gone I don't know who I'm going to make them for, but I still want to grow rhubarb. I'm also going to plant some tomato plants and a couple of summer squash plants. I think that will be enough of a garden since I'm not too keen on weeding or harvesting for that matter. What's up with that? Anyone know why we get so excited to plant everything in the spring and then come September, when the tomatoes are ready for harvesting and canning, we can't seem to find the time to do it? Humm.....A great mystery!

Thanks for taking the time to look...We're ecstatic about having our yard looking so nice!

I have MANY fond memories of Grandma's bleeding hearts. I remember getting scolded once for picking a handful of the beautiful flowers...Needless to say, I kept my hands in my pockets after that, and never picked anything but dandilion heads! LOL! =)

Your yard looks beautiful! and I'll take a rhubarb pie any day! :)

I'll second the rhubarb pie!! You can make it for me any day. I checked out the price of rhubarb in FLA - $4.99 a pound!! Next time I come to Utah I should bring a cooler instead of luggage.

YOUR LANDSCAPE IS FABULOUS!! I love the pine trees! BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL. Your summer will be simply wonderful. HUGS

Wow, Cathy! How gorgeous your yard looks! Congratulations on getting it professionally done -- it looks like a picture postcard. Sigh. As opposed to the jungle in my back yard. lol! Still can't get used to how fast things grow out here in NY.

Oh Cathy, how beautiful! It looks wonderful. I envy you getting it done professionally. We have our front profesionally landscaped--thankfully it came with the house when we bought it last summer!--but want to extend it to around the deck in the back, etc. My husband wants to do it himself. Not a good idea! :P Ah well. LOL about the bleeding heart story. My mother's husband decided one day to "help" her by weeding her back yard garden--and pulled up all her herbs! She still talks about it. Your house and garden are both beautiful!

How wonderful to get the professionals in to landscape. It would have been such a huge job to tackle it yourselves. Looks terrific!
