Birthday and other editorials...

Thanks Alison for helping me figure out my problem with putting my pictures on my post. While I was at it, I decided to add a couple of other pictures. These children are my little darlings!

Monday was my birthday...wahoo....another year older and wiser too! Yeah...Not sure about that...older...but wiser? Maybe not... Hubby decided that I "needed" a Blu-Ray disc player and so that's what he bought for me. He was mesmerized at Christmastime by the clarity of the picture on those, and since we got a new HDTV for Christmas...he thought we should have another nice toy to play with. I also got a new keyboard and mouse from my kids. My son is my IT guy on my computer and did not like my keyboard or mouse...this new one is really nice, although I'm having to get use to the new feel and a couple of the keys are different from my old one. I use an ergonomic split board which makes my hands feel a lot better. I've been using that type of board for quite a few years now and noticed immediate improvement in my wrists. Christy gave me a very cute recipe book for all my recipes. She scrapbooked the title pages and then put all my old recipe cards in it. I also got some neat things from my sisters. My sister, Joan, and I went out to lunch on Saturday for our birthdays (she was born on the 20th of January and I was born on the 21st of January). We went to the Cheesecake Factory which was fabulous! We also stopped in at Nordstrom's. I got a couple of things at the MAC makeup counter and then we went up to check out the "Not Your Daughter's Jeans." I ended up buying a pair because they fit my ___ pretty well and sucked in my gut pretty good. I'm not totally sold on them but decided what the heck! It's only money and it's my birthday....! Great thinking, no?
Wayne and I are pretty much couch potatos during the winter months in the evenings after work. This year we are watching "24" episodes on DVD. We are about half-way through the 3rd season. Yeah? Go Jack Bauer! We can watch about 3-4 episodes before we are totally stressed out and need to change pace! LOL! Last night we watched an older version of Sweeney Todd on Comcast free movies. That movie is just plain twisted! Holy cow! Have any of you seen it? Maybe you've seen the new one with Johnny Depp...I love Johnny but I don't think I'll be going to see him in this movie. The old movie was with Ben Kingsley...it was hard to think of him as a murderer!

Anyway...Stitchwise, I am getting a lot of stitching done. I'm working on Ellen Chester's "A Needleworker's Sampler Huswife." It's coming a long just fine. I need to work on improving my satin stitches a bit. I have some easier projects in the wings. I've started LHN Curley Q Ewe twice and now I've just put 32 count on my rods and plan to start it over AGAIN. The first start, I cut my linen the wrong size, the second start was on 18 count Waterlily and I was going to stitch it over 1. This time I decided to use 32 count Waterlily and stitch it over 2. I think I will enjoy stitching it much more doing it over 2. I'll start it sometime this week. I just love the colors and the sheepie!
My questions for Alison this post is...how do I get the pictures to be in between the paragraphs and not at the beginning of the post? Also how do I let people know I have a blog? Thanks GF!
Okay...gotta go fix something for dinner...and settle in for another night of TV and stitching! I just love winter for that reason. PS on Monday we got a foot of snow....very nice day for doing nothing!

Hi gf! To answer your questions - once you've uploaded the pic, you get a whole stack of html in your post. Just cut & paste it wherever you want to put it in your post. I usually type my post first & then upload.

To publicise your blog, you can add a link to your sig line on Yuku (& also on your profile there). Plus I've just posted on my blog with your link so that should get you more traffic than you need for the moment LOL!

Hi Cathy! I also welcome you to the blogging world and hope you will enjoy it. It is fun even though I'm a rather streaky blogger myself - I post in spurts rather than on a regular basis as I should :)
Anyway, I also found your blog by way of Alison. You are off to a great start - hope the new LHN Curley Q Ewe goes smoother!
